Flyover Farm

The first of many collaborations with organisation Fresh & Local in Mumbai, this project transformed 3,000 sqft of unused rooftop into an exemplar urban farm and community space. Phase 1 of the project was completed thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that raised sufficiant funds for materials. The farm is located on the roof of a residential building on one of the busiest streets in Mumbai, Mohamedali Road. The roof now provides a much needed resource for open air activities, growing space and gardening workshops. Our hope is that by showing it is possible to grow food in a densely urbanized area with limited resources, we will inspire others to start growing (some of) their own food in the underutilized spaces that surround them. Already the project has successfully brought together a wide range of communities, and engages young and old in learning about growing food.
